Key Stage 1

Our Key Stage 1 curriculum begins with sparking children’s curiosity and laying the foundations to create lifelong learners.

Rigorous initial assessment of basic skills allows us to start challenging each child at an appropriate level. Their curriculum in this phase centres heavily around phonics and early reading, equipping them with the tools to access the wider world later in their education and life.

Children are exposed to a broad curriculum and enhanced experiences aimed to foster a love of learning. At this stage of their education, children experience play-based, hands on learning and lots of use of the outdoor learning spaces.

Before each half term, we create a curriculum map so you can see what your child will be learning. These are available below. For any further information about our school curriculum, please talk to your child’s class teacher.
